Voters Rights? Vestige Of A Time Long Gone

08 Jul

antibellum riverboat paintingAh yes. I love to think back to those gentle days of old.

Those glorious days of the “Old America”

Days when you could vote because you had the right.

When everyone was encouraged to use their voice. Encouraged to vote.

A more gentile time when we were all determined that we would never let racism destroy the progress we had made.

When you didn’t have to prove you had money to vote. When you didn’t need to prove you were white to vote. “Old America”

America before Roberts and Scalia and Kennedy and the rest of the racist Bastards

Shocked. That’s what I am. Shocked. Fifty years of what was supposed to be progress and so much already done away with like so much old toilet paper.

How do these people get the power? We let them have it.

“All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing”antibellum HenryWallaceSpeakingofAmericanFascists

So when we failed to do what we could to stop the last self-righteous prick bastard Right-Winger from getting in…

I am personally amazed that everyone is taking this so quietly.

I am sure that nobody has forced the Court to change its decision in the past.

Occupy. Otherwise the game is lost.antibellum americanism hitler

This decision is wrong not only because of its effect but because this is a case of the Court; overruling Congress and the people because they don’t think the law is needed anymore.

Who the Fuck asked you?

Who gives a good damn whether you think the law is needed. Your job is to assure compliance with the Constitution; not second guess the elected representatives of the people.

This has gone far beyond a normal action taken by the legitimate  Supreme Court. This is the Court overstepping its authority.

antibellum fascism posterIf we allow this to stand; we will have given our nation to Roberts and Scalia and Kennedy.

Forget Congress. Just ask Antonin what he wishes us to do. Forget The President. If the Court can bully their way through the Congress they can force the President to do as they wish as well in the end.

I believe that this action by the Court constitutes a coup. Who’s in charge? Not Congress. Not the President. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t vote to do away with Votantibellum nazi-amer flagers Rights.

Not long ago someone said to me that we will be living in a Fascist Nation within the next ten years. I said I thought it would take longer.

I was wrong.

Another sad time for America!! I seem to have forgotten when America was great! I always wanted to be here …. because I thought America was the number one country in the world. We seem to have lost our way …. or “they” have lost it for us.
I don’t see America ever being the America I knew ever again!! 😦

I understand exactly what you mean. In America; the same thing happens. When we are children we are taught what a great, forward-thinking idea this nation was. We are taught that we are free. We are taught that the rest of the world is not as free. We are taught about Dictators, Communists, Fascists and Kings. European Kings for the most part. We are taught about the defeat of the great Fascist; Adolf Hitler and how America; with some small assistance from their allies; beat Hitler down so as to save the world from his ilk. We are taught that America is the only hope for the future of the world; if it is to have one. We are or were still being taught about how Democracy was the ultimate slap in the face as well as the final blow in a battle between the Kings and those who desired to make their own decisions. “Down with Despotism” is the cry we are taught to believe is still the appropriate one. They never taught us that Democracy could be worse than Despotism. That under a Democracy we would be subject to an octopus rather than a vicious dog. Many armed and nearly impossible to circumvent. But the truth is that Democracy as designed by our nations founders is an ingenious work of deception and control. We believed they were smart guys; we never knew they were diabolical geniuses. The roots run deep and they are complex and hard to trace.

You’re nuts! The experiment called America was the greatest accomplish of five thousand years of human civilization. Perfect? No. But my goodness, where has it been better? The founders were brilliant! They created a constitutional republic based on the principles found in the Wordvof God. We exchanged it for a strong centralized government that keeps getting bigger and bigger and ever more oppressive.

” a government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take away all you have”. Thomas Jefferson

You’re going to compare the genius of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Thomas Paine to whom? Charlie Schumer? You must be kidding!

It’s horrible the regression, in some ways we have progressed but it doesn’t show cos we have taken the world to some primitive savage days where the dark rules and all that you get to see and live is grime and that unlivable stench of corruption and power show
sad time for the entire world
