Happy 4th Of July? Yes Damn It; We Deserve At Least That.

04 Jul

4th puppieToday is the 4th of July. When I was a child, this was a great holiday. I looked forward to it because of the fireworks of course but also because I believed what I was taught; as children do.

I believed that we were celebrating a noble and brave thing. The start of “a new nation; conceived in liberty and…”

What a crock!

Listen; I love America. I love the mountains and the rivers. I love the deserts and the swamps. I love the people of this country. Real Americans who understand that America was a progressive idea. The notion that a nation could be a nation and 4th feather flagallow freedom of choice and action to the people.

I love the enormity of it; the deep secret places and the vast openness of it.

But I will not for anyone say that I love this government or any other government we have had. Barack Obama is great as Presidents go. He is as I have said before; a man who wants to do good but there is a limit to what he can do.

He has had only eight years to make progress. He has been opposed at every turn. When he is gone another person will have their 4 or 8 to try; but make no mistake. “The Government” has been here a lot longer than any president. “The Government” will still be here when he is collecting his rather lucrative pension and benefit package.

“The Government” is designed to look as though it allows freedom; all the while strangling freewill when it chooses.

To illustrate and substantiate this I would remind you of the CIA.

The CIA is an agency tasked with gathering intelligence globally.4th shadow government

To do that; it is important that it be operated over a period of months and years smoothly. Impossible; if it were run by the Director of the CIA.

The director of the CIA is a political appointee. More of a liaison between the CIA and The President than an actual “Director”

For the real power there; you have to step down one level; but it is a big step. A step into darkness. To the Deputy Director’s Positions.

These are the men who run the CIA. These are the men who make decisions about where, how, when, we will act on a day-to-day basis.

Not to say that they won’t take orders from The President. As long-standing government operatives however; they are likely to use a bit of flexibility in carrying those orders through because they don’t trust a four or eight year man to decide. They are in the perfect place to manipulate both sides of the issue if they wish.

Happen everyday? I hope not. Happened before? No doubt. Happen again? Probably because nobody wants to know or can say publicly.

I4th eaglet is essentially the same with the President. If you have ever tried to get an easy to apply for Government benefit or service you will understand that the ease is directly related to the level of interest and co-operation you get from the Bureaucrat you are forced to deal with.

That isn’t always about whether he had his Maypo this morning.

It might be about his instructions from his superior and his and so on.

It might be that he has been coerced or paid or pressured to make it difficult. In each case; your guess is as good as mine and you can’t ever rule out totally that he may have just missed his Maypo.

The point is; as much as we would like to believe our President is “In charge”. it’s only true in a sort of big picture; general oversight sort of way.

It is what we would call the “other shoe” or the “downside” of our Democracy.

It is what the founders and the real movers and shakers call the beauty of our Democracy.

In short; I am sorry to say that; what they are so pleased with is what a “Sham” our Democracy really is. How little choice we actually have about the path our nation will take and how little freedom we are afforded by this document of such renown.

Not that it is a completely bad work. It has its value. It has to, to offer the cover for the other things it allows. Dark things. Scary things. Things that make your skin crawl and your gorge rise.

I also used to believe that our revolution was a popular one. In fact; only about one-third (1/3) of the colonists approved or supported the revolution.

Hmm. I wonder what the other two-thirds were up to. Some fought for the British but I’ll just bet most of them sat by and said “I’m scared. I don’t want to get involved. I don’t care who wins; I just want to raise my pigs and cows.”

It is America after all.

So Independence day? 4th of July. Ok but it will never be the same for me since growing up and learning some truth.

Have a great holiday everyone. At least the fireworks are still real; I think.

I love my country, but this idea that we’re so great is also a crock. We’ve oppressed every other group of humans we possibly can, and we oppress a significant portion of our own population STILL. We’re not all that, to be honest.

Amen Jen. I have said before that when this country began; we were a fresh idea; however flawed or fixed. We still had more freedom than any other civilized nation at that time. Time has passed us by however and we can no longer claim to be more free than other nations. Now I think that fact alone should make every American pull up and choke. It does me. Peace

Rumpy. oppress them? You must be kidding me. Oppress them. When there is a famine anywhere in the world, who sends food and medical supplies? Natural disaster? Who sends engineers and heavy equipment and search teams? Political upheaval? Who’s kids are sent in to keep them from slaughtering each other? If it weren’t for America the world would be speaking German. What lands did we ever send troops in and plunder and pillage? All we ever asked for was a spot of land to bury our dead in. You better brush up on your world history because there are cemeteries all over the world filled with American soldiers that fought to free the truly oppressed. Take a look at China, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, Russia. Wake up and smel the coffee brother. We aren’t perfect for sure but we are still the most benevolent people on earth. If we don’t do it, who is? France? Give me a break!

That is the history you choose to look at. I choose to also look at the fact that we have put conditions on every cent we’ve sent other countries, we’ve meddled in their governmental affairs, and we’ve started wars that had no purpose but to stoke up the patriots at home. We have much to answer for on the world stage. Not everyone should be forced to live like we do.

You need to be more soecific instead of speaking in generalities as I have no idea what you are talking about. We should have strings attached if we are going to give other countries money. we should only pay for what is in our national interest. Most of the aid given now has little or no strings attached and usually NOT in our self interest. That is unless your beloved leader is going to get us into what you find so abominable in Syria. Funny I never hear you guys bitch and complain when a Democrat gets us into a war. I suppose you’re going to tell me this administration didn’t back the freshly ousted Morsi regime in Egypt and he isn’t having negotiations in Afghanistan now with the Taliban either, right. Why is it you libs can NEVER be consistent in your criticisms?

By the way, what history are YOU looking at? I was around and saw it first hand and stood at the cemetary in Manilla, Philipines where 20,000 US soldiers are buried. Who is better than us? You didn’t answer, France? I ask again, if not us, who? You tell me Mr. I have all the answers

        July 5, 2013 at 18:49

Uh uh. That’s just not true. Most of the aid we pay now goes to Israel and Egypt. Israel for defense and Egypt? For not fucking with Israel. Now tell me that foothold in the middle east is not in our interest. We also pay Jordan not to attack Israel.

Also: “We should have strings attached if we are going to give other countries money. we should only pay for what is in our national interest.”??????????????????

WTF. See Steve, just when I think you may be taking a step up the evolutionary scale from Neanderthal, you turn around and say something like this. How are human beings supposed to take you seriously? Paying for things that are in our interest doesn’t constitute “Aid” or “Helping Hand” That’s called purchasing good will or buying influence. You don’t get a pat on the back for that; from me. That pretty much clears up that nagging question. Why are so many people around the world starving when this planet produces more food every year than we can use? The answer is because they can’t pay for it and they don’t have oil or some other commodity that we want; they don’t sit at a strategic crossroads point or have anything else we want. So why should we help? Wait: I think we’re missing a big opportunity here. We go to these poor starving guys and we say, “Join our military and we’ll feed your children. otherwise watch them starve to death. We will.” Then we could use these poor bastards as expendable troops. Cannon fodder. Really cut down on those American battlefield injuries. I mean; they’re really down right?

No Steve; that isn’t how it is supposed to work. Now I know your paranoid little brain is going to kick at this idea but we are supposed to aid and feed people who need our help because they need our help and it makes us sick to think of anyone in such need. NOT because they have something for us.

We are supposed to help with no strings attached; when it isn’t in our best interest.

I have never seen a politician from any party who does this even if they say they will or we should. ANY PARTY!!

But you Steve? You are no politician. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

You are choking because the politicians you support are the very ones choking the life out of We the people. How many more of your rights are you willing to give away in the name of diversity and political correctness. wake up and look around at where this country is going. re you seriously telling me we are better off now than 50 years ago? Not even close. This government is for sale to the highest bidder no matter what party is in power. It’s become about them instead of us.

      July 5, 2013 at 01:11

Well I can understand what you mean about this government being for sale.

I don’t so much think it’s for sale as it is sold long ago; probably around 1776; to the Banking power structure and the other corporate entities and groups. They have changed over the years but the power is still in the same hands.

I am a Democrat because the Social Democratic Party is barely even an entity much less in a position to run a candidate. That is where I would probably fall philosophically but that party would be corrupt as well. I am going to publish an article about Common Core that you should find irritating. It points up the problem with Conservative logic as I see it. Or some problem.

I certainly do not desire to keep black children or any other children in substandard schools. Every child deserves the best education; bar none. Just as every American deserves the most advanced healthcare services and the latest treatments regardless of their ability to pay.

Every defendent deserves the best attorney also but that is another discussion.

But the sale is over. We are already owned by the corporations. Don’t believe it? Try to sell a truly innovative auto engine design independently.

Try to give every American home the ability to make all of it’s own electricity.

See how fast you’re shot down by; you guessed it; corporate America.

See; we don’t disagree entirely. On the other hand it is amazing how we can see the same thing from such different angles. Ha-cha-cha. Ain’t we got fun?

I kind of disagree with your fiscal point. In my opinion when the government gave our monetary system over to the Federal Reserve in 1913 was the turning point. Once again we turned our back on the Constitution. How can you guys not see that that single document and the implementation isn’t the answer to ALL our problems. It’s so obvious to me it is just mind boggling that you can’t see it.

First of all I dont advocate giving ANY aid as a government, but if we are, as we are doing I think it should be with strings attached. If people in the world need help IE: natural disaster or whatever it should be the people giving because they want to not with tax dollars. I don’t advocate not helping anybody, domestic or foreign from starving to death. That is not what I said.

In all these years I have seen really good people join politics with right ideas and will to bring changes but then once they boarded the mad train that is politics, they found themselves helpless..its a vicious cycle and there are power centers which will do anything to stop good people from doing anything beyond a point…

      Soma-I agree, it’s called Congress!

        July 6, 2013 at 13:37

I also agree with you but I don’t think it’s just Congress. I believe it goes far, far beyond that group. Actually, as much as I go on about racism and racial conflict being a ruse to keep us bickering between ourselves while the real agenda of the people with real power goes on unnoticed. But to be honest, all of this discussion and debate that I/we do with Steve and other Conservatives; is exactly the same thing. A ruse. And we all fall for it. Why? Because we find ourselves frustrated and wanting to do something to change things for the better. We look around and the way that is obvious; the way that is approved; is politics. Since it does effect a change in the personnel; it presents the appearance of changing things our way when we win and spurring us to greater effort to achieve victory next time. And all the while; the real agenda goes on all around us As you suggest; politics is a game that has no winner; just losers. It is a system designed to imitate change and hide the inner workings of world power.

It is the real New World Order but it isn’t new. It’s been here all along and has been known by many names in many times and many places.

We are all pawns in a never ending game of chess. A purposely perpetual stalemate.

Thanks for coming over. Can I get you a cup of tea or anything?

Heh, heh, heh. Talk soon Soma

We could begin a conversation about how to find a way behind the faade but that is the conversation which; if productive; could get us disappeared.

Angryman- Finally you said something that I can agree with. The problem is there is nothing we can do to affect change except abide by the principles set forth in our Constitution that were designed to protect us FROM the government. That is what I find so perplexing. Why for all the things that are wrong do you have so much faith in the government? Especially in lieu of their track record over at least the last 100 years? I don’t get it. you know it’s for sale, you know its corrupt, you know its ineffcient and yet you still scream for more. Why? please explain. I want to get it, I really do. Maybe my Conservative brain is too small, along with my heart (kind of like the Grinch’s)
