OH HELL NO! That’s not Scalia. That’s a poor malformed farm animal
This is the picture of the infamous two-faced Scalia. You can see how I made the mistake though.
In recent interviews; this narrow-minded stalwart of the Theocratic Right has publicly contradicted himself in the service of his Masters.
We can’t be sure if this is a move designed to distract us from a seemingly unrelated real event or if this is just a Mr. Magoo style symptom of Antonin’s approaching senility.
Either way; it surpasses my ability to understand; how a man can place himself in this position of such blatant hypocrisy. What pressure must he be under to purposely make himself out to be such a liar or blind fool?
With his one face, Antonin claims that the court’s action doing away with DOMA was inappropriate because the issue isn’t one that the court should have involved itself in. He says, “That is jaw-dropping. It is an assertion of judicial supremacy over the people’s Representatives in Congress and the Executive. It envisions a Supreme Court standing (or rather enthroned) at the apex of government, empowered to decide all constitutional questions, always and everywhere ‘primary’ in its role.”
With his other face he says about the ruling degutting the 1965 Voters Rights act, “This is not the kind of question you can leave to Congress,” he said; ,specifically noting that the court should overturn the law because it is too popular to overturn in Congress.
This un-American Son of a bulldog bitch (I hope the bulldogs will forgive me) has absolutely no sense of right and wrong. Whatever gets his job done. His job is apparently to inject his personal take on the need for this law into a decision already made by the representatives of the people. His heavily Right-Wing Religious opinion.
Is this a man who longs to be king? Yes. Yes it is. But a man who also knows he will never be King. King isn’t a title the Masters use these days. If Antonin really was wealthy and powerful enough to be anything other than a puppet of the Masters; his title is more likely to be Chairman of the Board of some obscure corporate entity whose mission statement includes world domination.
When I was in school I remember being taught that the role of the Supreme Court is to arbitrate when a question of Constitutionality is raised.
But it is in his statements about The Voters Rights Act of 1965 that he shows his real idea of what the role of the court should be.
Anytime the Congress or the people do not agree with the world according to Antonin Scalia, it’s not just ok for the Court to step in and slap their decision down but it is a moral duty.
I admit that I havn’t paid enough attention to this “blivet” before but I will be now.
I always say the Justice system needs a revamp. I guess we better start at the top. That these nine people can acknowledge the rights of all humans to pair off as they see fit and to have that recognized legally is seemingly a good thing but then to turn around and destroy the Voters Rights Act with the same wave of their hand is the most blatant act of Judicial hypocrisy that I have witnessed.
Scalia’s statements just serve to highlight his own racist intentions and his fanatical devotion to his corporate masters
Unfortunately even though I fully support the rights of same sex couples; I would gladly trade that decision for a different decision about the Voters Rights Act.
If we can vote; we can kill DOMA later. If we get that one now but lose the right to vote;we will continue to lose everything including the so recently won DOMA decision.
It’s a ruse folks. Don’t be fooled by the likes of Antonin Scalia. They are leading us down the road to Tyrany as surely as “little Antonin” ate too much of Mama Scalia’s home cooking.
