Fili-bluster

And they call this "Responsible Government"?

And they call this responsible government?

Much talk has been heard of late about the practice known as “The Filibuster“.

What is a Filibuster? Why is it used? Is it a valid tactic? Should we allow them to continue?

Whether The Filibuster will be done away with is what the Senate leadership are wrestling with.

But how do you feel about this issue? Do you know? I know how I feel. So will you if you click the ” piece of candy” button.

I think it is a crime; or should be at any rate. The Filibuster; as with other ploys and tactics designed to obstruct the work of Congress should never have been tolerated by a legislature with so much work to do; or one that even claims to take itself seriously.congress approval rating

This kind of behavior is one reason people have no confidence in Congress.

Their job is to consider and vote on legislation; not play childish games to prevent progress. Purposeful obfuscation of the legislative process should earn a Senator or Congressman heavy fines and/or suspension of speaking rights.

Filibuster: “If I don’t get my way I’m just going to talk and talk. Why; there isn’t anything you can do to stop me from talking and talking even if all I say is that I’m gonna keep on talking and talking so you can’t get anything done that I don’t agree with; even if most of the nation hands over earslikes the idea you propose; I don’t care; I’m just going to talk and talk.”

Much like a child putting his hands over his ears and repeating “la-la-la-la-la” or putting hands over his eyes to hide from you.

Such behavior should by no means be a part of the legislative “Process”. The work should be much more straight-forward; with many less obstacles in the way of getting a vote by the entire body.

Of course it would help if they would stop attempting to legislate about things that are not theirs to decide. Moral issues create discord and stubborn refusal to agree or compromise thus slowing the process severely. Far too much time is wasted discussing things that are none of their business.

First they want to make my personal decisions for me and then they make up all these “Cry Baby ” tactics that insure that a valid representation of the people’s will is never seen or heard; a decision is never made and the battles continue ad infinitum.

This is bullshit

We have tolerated this kind of foolishness for long enough. The time is long past when we canhey you wake up afford to waste the time of our representatives or allow them to waste their own.

So; if you agree with me; phone your Senator; send an e-mail; whatever you chose but let them know you think it is wrong to allow filibusters in any form and you want them; as your Senator to work to end this practice. Tell them to wake up; it’s late; listen to the people’s voice.
