Are You Jaded? Maybe But Let’s Give The Man A Chance

25 Nov

Recently someone commented on an article I was reading about the problems facing the poor and middle class; enumerating a few of the worst and suggesting ways that The President might help.

Another commenter said in response: “Yeah, I’m sure he has nothing better to do.”

This made me question what happened, that this person felt that this was the case……….

……….. Was it that he or she had seen that other Presidents had promised much to the poor and middle class and delivered nothing?

Perhaps this person is so politically jaded that they find it impossible to believe that anyone will ever do anything for the poor and middle class.

I can understand that; the Republican presidents; who have dominated the White House for the past twenty or so years have been of that very nature. And what else might we expect of a Political party who uses Biblical quotes like, “The poor will always be with you.” to justify not helping the poor.

But we are hoping for a better result. This time we are hoping with all of our hearts that we have elected a man who is as truly different and unique in the history of his office, as he appears to be and as we believe him to be. if he should turn out not to be as different and caring as he has so far demonstrated; I will be the first to call foul but I don’t think I’ll need to do that this time.

I listened to Barack Obama when he was asked about having a mandate from America. He said that the only mandate he felt he had, was to do what he said he intended to do all through his campaign; Assisting the middle class to get back what it has lost under the rule of the Corporations and helping the poor to progress to the middle class ; by asking the wealthiest 2% of Americans to pay a little more in taxes; encouraging small business and job growth partly by investing in the American infrastructure; in sore need of repair and replacement; with at least some of the money coming from a decreased need for troops overseas. Bringing the troops home from Afghanistan and Iraq

So, I  say that I’m sure; he has absolutely nothing better to do. This was the point of the Obama campaign; to “encourage” the wealthy to give up a bit; encourage small businesses to expand by providing tax breaks; and spread the wealth around.

It is possible that you might have missed this if you spent any time having your mind numbed by Mitt and his band of thieves i.e. Republican comrades and henchmen.

Directing attention to America’s infrastructure is a very unattractive notion for the Military Industrial Complex. these good old boys are all Republicans; corporate fascists; brutal capitalists; ruthless producers of death.

If The President was to create jobs (Yes; I said it); by developing programs to reconstruct America; there is no guarantee that the super-wealthy would be able to drain their usual obscene profit from it. Not if organized correctly.

Adapt and adjust to the circumstances is not a philosophy the 1% embrace. They never go with the flow. These super-wealthy wheelers and dealers who pass billions back and forth like so many poker chips while their neighbors can barely feed their children; are used to controlling and redirecting the flow when it doesn’t suit their current needs so; if you sell lawn mowers; you sprinkle grass seed and fertilizer in people’s yards. If you make weapons capable of destroying square blocks; you start and encourage a war.

Americans making enough money to be independent of the Corporate Oligarchy is the worst nightmare of the “Republican Leaders”. Their system only works if they keep the workers hungry; ever striving for that golden ; mesmerizing; but oh so unreachable goal of financial independence.

The carrot and the stick; just like a donkey. I don’t want to be a donkey and I don’t think any of you should have to be donkeys.

I wonder if they have ever considered letting us be fancy carriage horses who get treated well and are grateful; and so work for the pleasure of the team effort and camaraderie?

NAAHW! Scheeew! What was that shit I smoked last night? LOL

I was just thinking about that jackass from Papa Johns. You know why. My husband’s company cuts hours and product lines because the haven’t made MORE money than last year. Year three? four? of Ireland’s massive financial depression. That’s why Papa hurt his workers, someone above him wants more and more and more – and once you can’t do that, you are considered to be failing. No matter how many millions or billions you make.

He’s very good! Shame the occupy movement didn’t seem to do much except piss off the English bankers. Unless you’ve seen a result I missed?

No; I don’ think OWS accomplished it’s goals. I do think though that it or another movement like it will be back if we don’t get this country back on track to equality and dignity for all Americans.

I also think the next movement or the one after that will be focused on a more fundamental change to our government; possibly involving violence if the people are not heard.

I don’t say this because I desire Revolution; I do not. But because a brief study of history will show that it is the unavoidable result of Government that ignores the needs of the people long enough.

You are full of crap! You don’t want “equality and dignity for ALL Americans”. Only for those that are lazy and incompetent and unwilling to take responsibility for their own poor life decisions. You want to rob the producers and those that have more of anything than YOU do. I work damn hard for what I have and deserve to have more than you because I EARN it by working harder and smarter than you. How dare you think you deserve what is mine by virtue of no more than your existence. Get your own! have you no shame? Didn’t your parents teach you not to steal? I happen to be an American too. What about my dignity? There is nothing dignified about being a slave!

Go ahead on another BS rant about being beige and I owe you this that and the other thing. BULLSHIT! I don’t owe you anything! You’re the same thing as any other two bit thug standing on any street corner in America with a gun stealing from someone else that which doesn’t belong to them. Go ahead and belittle me, I know exactly what you guys are…Thieves!

Angryman? What are you angry about? Whatever it is, put your big boy pants on, pull up your pant legs and change things up and get at it. This country abounds in opportunities. No body owes you anything. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and do something about it. Trust me, if I can do it, anybody can do it and so can you. All I ever hear from your side is reason after reason as to why you CAN”T do something. It’s pathetic. We aren’t French. We’re Americans for God sakes, we can do ANYTHING!

Hey Steve, The reason we as Americans can do anything is that we have the benefit; of the experience and knowledge; of the most diverse ethnic mix in the world. America is an experiment in race and culture mixing on a grand scale. What is happening today is not in opposition to the “American Experiment”; it is the “American Experiment”.

I will be posting the rest of my responce as an article entitled “Hey Steve” because I thought you deserved mention if I’m going to speak to you on the front page so to speak. LOL. The title doesn’t matter as much as you think and the more weird it is; the more people it seems to draw. It’s my Fu’–in blog init’?

Great. I’m sure it will be thought provoking and I won’t agree with any of it, but then thats why i write to you. At least you know what YOU think, which is usually not the case with all you lefties. I find debate stimulating. Thanks!
