Can You Beat That Horse A Bit More? I Think He Twitched.

18 Nov

On Sunday; five days after Barack Obama being given an obvious Mandate by the American people; a prominent Republican made this statement:

“Now it’s time for The President to propose solutions that actually have a chance of passing the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and a closely divided Senate; step up to the plate on the challenges of the moment; and deliver in a way that he did not in his first four years in office.”;

I have had many conversations with Republicans both online and in person and it never fails to amaze me how even when confronted with the cold steel of reality; they fail to admit defeat.

Rather like the Black Knight in the Monty Python movie who continues to battle on even after his arms and legs are cut off; threatening, “Come on you bloody coward; I’ll chew your leg off.”

Some of them are now saying they need to reach out to Latinos and women. Translated; that reads: “Pretend to care about them so they will vote for us”……………………….

………………………………………..And this is my point exactly. It doesn’t matter what the Republican party says it is or says it believes or says it supports. It doesn’t matter what they SAY about anything. You can’t believe anything they say because it is obvious that they are insincere.

They will ultimately support anything they believe will get them elected and then do as they please; disregarding what they promised to do and be and believe.

Power and money. Power and money; that’s all they want and all they will accept. If squashing newborn puppies was what they thought would work; you would see them with puppies underfoot and a big smile on their face.

The Republicans have shown their willingness to pretend to be. They have demonstrated their willingness to publicly humiliate even those who side with them to get what they want. Herman Cain is an excellent example. Who believes that the Republican Party took him seriously?

It was so obvious that he was pre-determined to lose; as were the other Republican hopefuls who made a two-week run at the nomination.

No doubt the Party was encouraging them; saying, “You can do it Herman; Michelle; Rick; Newt. We believe you are the person that can be the next president.”

In fact they knew that Michelle’s extremism; Rick’s racism; Herman’s history (allowed to become public just in time to kill his campaign before anyone could really even get to know the guy); Newt’s aging desperation and ridiculous statements; would prevent their nomination and they knew Mitt; would be whatever worked. They knew that he would seem more moderate than any of those early candidates; and would seem a viable option; one they might be able to win with.

Poor Herman. Fooled himself into believing the Party would actually accept a Black man as their candidate; allowing himself to be paraded for the American people to laugh at.

Laugh at; not because he is Black or particularly amusing but because it was so obvious that he was just a dupe being used; because of his color; to fool Americans into thinking the Republicans are not Racist.

P.O.O.

The Party of Obstruction was just using you to live up to their name.

I’m sure they hoped that the simple fact that they “considered” Herman; would gain votes among the Black and the poor of all colors.

When you ran; the people were asking what the Party thought they were up to. Do they really expect to win an election by running this sad collection of racists; fascists; old fools and wanna be angry white men? Of course they didn’t. They just wanted Mitt to look better than anyone else they might threaten to run. They knew who the nominee would be before the contest even began.

I don’t know what to say about a Woman who sides with the Misogynists or a Black man who sides with the Racists. I’ll leave that to my Female and Black friends to judge and condemn if they will; and I’m pretty sure they will.

Huntsman would have had a better chance, in my opinion (we have them all, ya know). But Huntsman would be more than simply a man with a title that can hold a pen and sign whatever Daddy Rove or Uncle Norquist tells him to sign.

I actually woke up this morning puzzling this over – how does the Republican party reach out to the people they’ve disenfranchised for so many years? I keep hearing Republican party leaders saying this, but in order to do so, they’d have to give up their entrenched ideas about pro-choice, taxing the wealthy, immigration, government assistance programs, and so on. Well, they’d have to become Democrats. So, I don’t understand what they’re talking about nor do I see it being achievable at all. The only way this can happen is if a third party is formed out of the shambles of this Republican party. They’d have to leave behind a ton of garbage.

Yes; I have said that as the demographics of the nation change; the Republican Party may well go the way of the Whigs; Federalists Bullmoose etc.

Political Parties require people to support them. As time goes on; I would not be surprized to find a new party; farther to the left than the Democrats emerge. Imagine the Democrats being thought of as the Conservative Party.

I spout a lot about moving Left but I do think we could go too far. Pure Socialism has not proven itself to be a viable political alternative. The most successful nations have settled on a mix of Socialism and Capitalism which seems to be working well.

You know; those European countries where the people are happier and less stressed.

An idea the Republicans find repulsive; happier people.

To the left of the Democrats? What would you name that party? The Unmotivated Takers Party? You don’t think you’ve gone too far already? What more do you want? A large percentage of the people already think they’re entitled to take what doesn’t belong to them. We used to call that stealing, now they call that entitlement spending.

Thats an easy question to answer. All they have to do is the same things the Democrats do…give them something for nothing that belongs to someone else. Everybody loves Santa Claus and most Americans no longer care that what they get was actually earned by someone else. Just tell them “it’s free”!

Good post Mr. Angry Man…I have yet to figure out why your post don’t come to my e-mail, especially since I am following your blog.

Someone please show the parrot, steve, the door! The only folks who receive ‘entitlements’ are the 1%, and corporations with all those tax breaks, tax havens, and govt subsidies.

Beth- Those too! Thats exactly what I am saying. Why do we pay tax dollars to farmers to not grow crops. Subsidies are wrong as are all the subsidies we pay out to individual people which is FAR and away more than what corporations get, not that thats right, as you said. I don’t understand why we allow our government to enslave large percentages of our populations through government programs. Our government is designed to make sure the playing field is even and that everyone can compete not to guarantee that everyone is equal, they’re not. Why do you consider me a parrot ? Because my point of view is different than yours? Do you own a business? A home? A family? College tuition? Food bills? What is wrong with me expecting to keep what I work hard for? Does my money belong to me or you and the government? Please answer, no one of you guys on the left never answer questions, they just berate me for what I think. How much is enough? Give me a number. 30%? 50%? 75%? Tell me…How much is mine?
