“Who Let The Dogs Out”? “WHO LET THE FUCKING DOGS OUT?” Really?

10 Nov

Really. This is what Mitt Romney said when he made one of his two visits to black communities. In an effort to bond with young black people; Mitt said, and I quote:

“Who let the dogs out? Woof Woof.”

I just recently heard about this and after my face turned back from red to white and the steam stopped shooting from my ears I thought about exactly what he did (other than alienating every black person and anyone else who heard him.)…………

………….Mitt showed himself to be; not just a wealthy fascist but a totally oblivious one as well. Out of touch? No out of contact with reality. In what world has it ever been “cool” for a middle-aged to elderly man; especially a white man (because many older black men are very in touch and are able to bond with young people. White men ; not so much) to use youthful expressions to connect with youth? Never. No Not cool at all.

The fact that Mitt doesn’t know that; points up his lack of connection with America and shows his outdated thinking.

Now Mitt has had his ass whipped soundly but there are other “Mitts” out there just waiting to pounce on any weakness they detect in our position and determination. They; like Mitt; will never be cool. They will never understand where our people are coming from or where we want to go.

As I have said before; more than any other person; Mitt has caused me to feel that I need to apologize for his actions and words.

I suppose because we are both white and he is such a shit.

I want to stand up before this nation and say; “This man is not America.” “This man does not represent what we stand for”

I am so sorry that he has been allowed to run amuck through this country bringing fear and hurt to the millions of African-American; Latino; Native American; Asian; Muslim; and Female citizens and unregistered immigrants.

He has frightened the white citizens as well (if that helps at all) because we all stand together; as one Brotherhood; focused on ending such bigotry and hatred.

We are Americans; real Americans; who have come together and put aside our differences to fight for our similarities and our Freedom to be who and what we are.

We have taken our stand behind the banner of Liberty; led by our Great president and political muse; Barack Obama; to bring a wind of change and the breath of fresh air to all Americans.

So fuck it. I won’t appologise. I will however vow to strengthen this multi-racial; multi-cultural Brotherhood and and promote understanding where it is missing; form a bond of love and common belief that will; must stand for all time.

With enemies like Mitt and his thugs, we cannot allow ourselves to take even one step backwards.

We; the Free people of America; Free because we are no longer shackled by the division of race. Free because we have examined America; seen its ills; and vowed to stand together as one people to bring the end of the Republican Dragon.

Vowed to mentally meld ourselves into one race; a race called Americans; one army of fighters under the banner of equality and justice for all.

We have won the battle and we all deserve to rejoice and celebrate this phenomenal victory of Our President. Sing his name for all to hear and spread the word that Americans will no longer stand by while the forces of evil slam our Brothers and damn our friends and insinuate evil into our country.

The battle is won (Hurrah); the war goes on.

Our victory assured; our battle cry is an old one but a valid one for our age.

“We shall overcome” together; as one people; Brothers under the skin and despite our skin; forever.

If we allow our differences to come between us it will defeat us and we will be digressing not progressing. If we ever allow our differences to come between us; we will already be defeated by our failure to keep the bond and the vow.

We are the progressive party and we owe it to our children to be able to honestly say; Barack Obama brought us together and we stayed that way out of love and communication and compassion. We stayed brothers and sisters and friends and allies and co-workers in the most profound and significant movement this nation has ever seen.

This is the last time I will write about this; or I hope so. I hope we never have to say these things again. I hope we are the first generation of Americans who truly put the degrading past behind us and march into the future together; blind to our racial differences; blind to all of our differences and clearly able to see the golden light of brotherhood and freedom that has brought us this far. Brought us to this moment of pride and elation. Let’s keep that moment and that feeling for the rest of our lives. It is perhaps the greatest accomplishment of My President and it can be ours as well.

So let it be written. So let it be done.

    Wow–my thoughts exactly.

More than one middle-aged white man has tried to be cool. Not only can’t they dance, they can’t hang with the big dogs!!!!

Mitt should have stayed on the porch!

For 8 years (The shrub admin) I was almost ashamed to claim to be an American–and a white American especially. It was such a relief to have Barack Obama win in 2008 & gratifying to see that win repeated this year.

Even before 2000, I was dismayed by the number of white people sitting in rooms making decisions that would determine so much about life for so many people of color. The paternalism of slavery seemed alive and well in 20th Century social service circles. I am happy to report the situation has improved, but know that we cannot let up on our diligence to remain inclusive of all people.

Empowerment of the people whom the policies apply to must be central to all efforts in the future.

Thanks for the comment. I’m glad to hear from someone who agrees. Usually I attract more; well others. I do believe that we would be foolish indeed to abandon the relationships we have formed during the campaign. Someone on NPR said the Democrat’s challenge is to hold onto the black and latino vote in 2016; when it is not as 1likely the Democratic candidate will be black again. I agree but I say it is to hold all of our votes. The landscape is changing. Nothing says that the democratic party is as far to the left as a party can be. after the republicans wake up and discover how far out in the cold they really are; it could be that the Dems will be the Right-wing Party. Such a party might expect strong support over the next ten or twenty years and might become a valid challenger. It could also be that many democrats might be willing to move to such a new party if the democrats are not able to address the problems of all Americans effectively. I know some new people now and if they start to write about how their community is not being helped or their issues attended to; I might go myself. My point is that while I would never move to the right; I am not married to this party. I supported the man; Barack Obama; not the party perse. If the party fails to stand strong against fascism or fails to follow through on the promises they supported when Obama proposed them; I could move to a party farther left. By the time this would be an issue; many others would go as well. This isn’t me threatening the Democratic Party. It is me saying that the relationships that we formed were formed on the understanding that this party’s intention was to serve all people of all colors and races and heritage. Not just while this President is in office but from here on out. The fact that we all acted as one; without caring about race and national origin means that my loyalty is to those people. To Barack Obama because his loyalty is to them as well and because his candidacy made the miracle possible. But if he should fail to maintain faith with us or the more likely scenario where the party fails to keep faith with us after My President is out of office. I’ll stick with the millions who strived to do their utmost to get this President elected; not to any Political Party.
